YYF Avant Garde/Takuto L4 **UPDATE

so some of you might have read about it, i just went to check the link at the YYN forum and the thread is removed. But its still around at 91yoyo.
if you haven't already read about it, its about China players being unhappy about YYF's release of the Avant Garde, it seems that it was actually based off Takuto's L4 design, and Ben promised to seek permission from Takuto/Auldey before mass releasing it.

some of you who have access to 91yoyo might be able to see the PMs between Ben and Takuto, I shan't post them here.

Ben have promised to make a response to this.

visit this entry which was back in May this year, about the L4, and Takuto's clarification that he didn't copy the Avant Garde.

**UPDATE
Ben made a reply to the thread in 91yoyo.

so there, y'all got your answers.

Updates again at 23 Nov 2011, 8:38(GMT+8)
went to the 91yoyo forum, players still unhappy, but if y'all have any questions, i guess you can email YYFBen like stated in the message print-screened above.

Jensen also made a reply to another thread in regard to this.

  1. Hi guy, I'm sorry, but I used negative shape in 2009 for rebalance the Stradivari weight distribution.

    Here my evidence:

Btw, I used the negative shape (or undercut) for some mods and protos:

  2. Why not also post Jensen's reply here?

I think it's a bit unfair to just say "players in China are still unhappy", as if they are greedy people unsatisfied about what they settled with YYF, because it seems to me that the Chinese community is more unhappy about the attitude they were given.
You forgot to mention that whenever they tried to post their statement regarding the issue (follow-ups regarding the PM, so no issue of privacy here) on YYN and YYE, their posts were deleted immediately and their account and IP were blocked.
I understand that posting such things on these forums may cause flame-wars, but wouldn't simply locking the thread be sufficient? And what is the meaning behind blocking the user account and IP? I do not wish to make any outlandish accusations here, but it really does seem as if someone is trying to prevent the information from being released.

I only started touching on this issue recently, so I was a bit confused and thought at first that this was just a hoax. But after seeing Jensen Kimmitt's comment, I begin to wonder...
Maybe YYFBen really is trying to dictate the yoyo community, and "any voice of dissent against YoYo Factory at all is completely eliminated before any word gets out against them" (quoting Jensen). And at places where he couldn’t eliminate them, he’ll try to undermine the credit of the opposition and appear as if he is a victim of prosecution by greedy Chinese pirates.

Or, maybe all of this is just another empty conspiracy theory, then in this case, Jensen's comment is nothing more than dragging whatever butt-hurt he received from YYF around.

I really do wish there is no conspiracy here; but it just seem to fall into place this way than making explanation for every piece of evidence against YYF. Just looking at the YYF website again, the Avante Garde is still listed on the product page under “special projects”, with not even a hint of credit to Takuto that YYF promised.
