Aero-Yo & ColdMetal!

Why Aero-Yo & Cold Metal? because they're now being manufactured under the same factory, think this way, Aero-Yo is an equivalent to their lower end market, Cold Metal, the higher end range of their product!

while Cold Metal have been around for some time now, remember the Nano Blaster?
yea, so if I'm not mistaken, I can say that they're sibling company.

I have received some samples awhile ago, but have yet to go about posting them, now i'm gonna share the pictures with you, and share some thoughts about it, no promo videos yet. /:

specs:
weight: 65.5g
width: 38mm
diameter: 52 mm

so this is the V8 by Cold Metal, I wasn't expecting any Cold Metal samples initially, I thought I'll only be getting the Aero-Yo samples, when I saw the V8 I was pretty excited, I've always wanted to try the Nano Blaster and V8, but now that Nano Blasters are discontinued, its not to bad to be able to test the V8!

an entry about the V8 was made back in March 2010, the image of the V8 on that entry seems like the yoyo is polished, and the laser engravings looks different too, maybe a change of manufacturing process changed its outlook. this yoyo feels pretty heavy for its size, to me at least.

I had fun playing with it though, the schmooved rings reduce the friction during play but, i personally feel, it could be the string I used, I used highlights from YYN, or maybe the response, after winding up the yoyo, you'll still need a few throw to get a tighter bind from it, if you get what I'm trying to say, like the throw kinda slips drop, the yoyo itself, doesn't have a very tight bind in my opinion. because of the slipping of the yoyo on the first throw, it doesn't really have a powerful spin, but after a few throws, the spin's pretty long, but it could be just me, maybe you wouldn't get that problem. honestly speaking, it feels rim weighted, long spins, but not too stable for me, blame it on me, or try it out yourself, which is the best solution! other than that I like it!
the next one, Nord, also from Cold Metal.
The Nord is the 2nd yoyo from Cold Metal that I got, just two Cold Metal by the way.
the day I open it was the first time I see this yoyo, I have no impression of this yoyo, its wider and slightly larger in diameter than the V8.
specs:
weight: 67g
width: 41.7mm
diameter: 54.9mm
string gap: 4.85mm

I would say I've grown to like this yoyo more than I expected, it feels more like a regular throw to me, compared to the V8. although weighing at 67grams, it doesn't feel too heavy for your wrist, it feels like an average weighted yoyo, fast, smooth,no slipping,
tighter bind, easily longer spins (for me), I would say I throw it with more ease compared to the V8 too, its stability is definitely better to that of V8. it looks pretty wide but feels nice in the palm, the throw feels nice too, no throwback, front, etc. It comes with the schmooved rings too, handles everything I threw at it, grinds pretty good, or maybe its my finger condition today, has a slight IRG lip, oh yea, the V8 has it too.

both the V8 & Nord comes in a velvet pouch with nice graphics on them, similar to other Aero-Yo pouches.

now lets move on to the Aero-Yos.... The Katana.
before I go on, here are some comparison photos of the Katana beside the Yoyojam Lyn Fury and the Yoyofactory One.
response shot close-up only of the Katana and One, believe everyone knows how a regular rubber black o-ring response of a YYJ look like.

honestly speaking, on first look, the Katana looks like some cheap alternative to the YYJ Lyn, YYF One, Aoda's bootleg Lyn. well, actually you can still say so right? its indeed another alternative, but honestly speaking, when I first receive it, I thought it'll be kind of crappy, but turns out not, its pretty fun and smooth, while the Lyn Fury is already a pretty good plastic yoyo, but during its time, there wasn't any silicone pads yet.

the Katana feels pretty light compared to Lyn Fury, rather similar to the YYF One, be it the response, the weight, the shape, the feel during play. look at the last comparison photo, they're pretty much the same, even the shape, the Lyn Fury is not as identical to either of them compared to the two with each other. But playability wise, I really would say, Katana and One are pretty much the same. Quality? i can't see any difference, they're both good. they're light, but they spin pretty long, and fast, really fast on the string.
go ahead and try throwing tricks that your metal yoyo handle, the Katana handle them pretty well, maybe occasionally the spin dies out if you attempt a 1min+ combo, but its really smooth, and pretty stable too. if you want a cheaper yoyo for a pocket yoyo, you can really consider this.

Mini Monster.
yes, the mini General-Yo bootleg from Aoda.
Aero-Yo mentioned, their yoyos are indeed from Aoda, but Aero-Yo rebranded it with better quality checked. here you see the Mini Monster, polished, with laser engravings.

you know how most mini yoyo play?
they kind of goes forward when you throw, like before you can control it, it fly right out, you know the difficulty level for throwing a Mighty Flea? but yea, the Flea is much more smaller, and pretty much very playable already because of the bearing size.

the Pixy, another undersize yoyo, have this problem, the throw, it goes forward, the the return really need some getting used to, because of its large bearing. The Mini Monster handles tricks like a regular yoyo i must say, really, i haven't tried the Turning Point Tarasqus, so i can't compare it to the Mini Monster, but the Mini Monster really plays unlike most mini yoyo, it spins long, easy to handle, easy return, handles your combos well, basically, it feels pretty much like how a regular sized yoyo would feel. Its really a pretty good mini yoyo to play with.

Lightning Light!
Sergey Bukanov's Signature yoyo.

this is by Aero-Yo.
from the profile view, this yoyo has a shape similar to the YYR yoyos shape, not very, but a little, the straight cut body.
the yoyo weighs at 67g (couldn't find the full specs), unlike the Cold Metal Nord that doesn't feel heavy, this one feels heavy on the palm/wrist. but its a pretty good throw in my opinion. no, it doesn't feel like a YYR, if saying the shape looks alike would mislead you.
the hub area reminds me of a Peak, yep, you know the nipple of the Caribou Peak? yea, imagine it being scaled down, its looks the same, i don't know how it'll affect the play thought, maybe Sergey just want it to look that way.
the yoyo spins long, its got pretty thick rims, but feels heavy, for me atleast, but it plays fast for its weight and heavy feel. it grinds great, and smoothly, rather then climbing up real fast up your arm, you get what I mean? some grinds stays, some "climbs", it kinda stays. The Lightning Light also doesn't have lots of wall allowance, so most would probably feel its good for horizontal tricks. but then again... i can't do horizontal tricks for nuts... sorry about that.

last sample from Aero-Yo, the RB, signature yoyo of Igor Galiyeva.

specs:
weight: 67g
width: 42.8mm
diameter: 55.8mm
string gap: 4.8mm

I haven't play long  enough with this yoyo to do a write-up, the yoyo's with Alex right now.
i remember the rims are pretty huge and it feels rather bulky in the palm, well pictures for you guys first, gotta update this entry when I throw the RB more!

it'll be bring to the top post when updated, no worries!

and yes, promo video to come, hopefully soon!
