Yonity Jei

firstly, I want to say when I first saw the Yonity Jei, it kinda reminds me of the DreamYo NewWing because of its shape.
but of course, it doesn't play the same, at all.
so I was looking forward to trying one, because of what I heard of it, that its better than the Dao, more stable and stuff. and also because its Jei Tseng Hung Chieh's signature yoyo. I like Jei, I consider him a friend, first saw him back in 2008, known as a Hiroyuki Suzuki fan, and then his improvements were pretty obvious.
so here's more photos of the Yonity Jei...
So I was told this is still in prepro stage, thats why I wasn't given a bearing with it, there weren't enough I think. but I couldn't use the ceramic one that came with the Dao because I realise the that bearing was having some problem I couldn't solve. It cause the yoyo to vibe, so I used a Center Trac bearing. so this write-up is based on using the Center Trac bearing, I don't have a dif-e-yo KK so I'm not sure if it'll work well, but the last I talk to Jex, he mentioned the new releases may spot a regular flat bearing. not confirmed though. so here's photos of it with the Yonity ceramic concave bearing, yes no mistake, I took photo of it with Yonity's bearing.
and then here I go, found a suitable bearing and start playing.
it features their special axle system, with the stretchy silicone pads.
honestly speaking, not that the Dao ain't nice, but in terms of Yonity yoyo, after playing with the Jei, I hardly ever touch the Dao. its indeed very stable, more stable than Dao. and definitely very long, powerful spin. I remember Jei telling me about the probability of this yoyo having two version, one 66g, the other 68g, I think the one i have is a 68, it felt like it. but its fast on the string, and needless to say, its really smooth.
this one I got is a polished one, that's about to oxidise, I can't say much about grinding, the final run will most probably have a finish similar to Dao, if so, the grind's like mentioned in Dao's write-up, it kinda 'run' on your skin. polished yoyo don't grind so well on my skin, maybe it's just me. there's a slight IRG lip, I remember someone telling me Jei told him he has intention on making IRG tricks, therefore the lip there, I don't know how true is this, i have yet to talk to Jei regarding this, but I've never seen Jei doing IRG tricks, so it could be something new, alright, YiChen from Duncan Crew Singapore just remind me of our conversation about this, he afterwards said that he wasn't talking about Jei but Jex instead, who's into IRG tricks. so yea, the IRG lip must be an coincident or something. so on top of all that, like most metals, it handles slacks well, laceration not a problem at all. sideways, Christopher, WeiXuan all did sideways without problems. if I remember correctly, WeiXuan have positive feedback for this yoyo. all these being said,
I need to stress that this write-up is based on using a Center Trac bearing as the original Yonity bearing have some issue that causes vibe and becomes responsive.
will be bringing this yoyo to meetings so guys do try it out. but its polished as its still in prepro stage.
