i've paste the whole thing over here from the YYF post cuz i can't link it to an individual post... late readers will end up reading the latest post instead of this. so yeah... so here goes....
To start getting everyone excited for the contest here is a preview of Yoyofactory Contest Team Players
JOHN ANDO (1A)
2008 John Ando entered his 2nd ever 1A freestyle contest. after 2 rounds of qualifying and a 3-minute final he was the World Champion. The implications of his win have changed the way elite players play and perform yo-yo with a new emphasis on movement and use of the body in tricks. Not resting on his laurels John Ando is back to defend his title and again, change the way people play.
SHINJI SAITO (2A, COMBINED)
The most successful competitive yo-yo player in the history of yo-yo, Shinji Saito is gunning for his 10th World title in 2009. After failing to take the 2A crown in 2008 there were people doubting Shinjis commitment to the sport but on June 21st Shinji made a statement competing and winning his 1st Japanese national title in emphatic fashion at times almost playing with the crowd. At this contest Shinji debuted the YoYofactory LOOP900, his signature yo-yo which he will be using in Orlando.
YUUKI SPENCER (1A)
Yuuki Spencer has done it all. A US National Champion and World Champion 2x over he has proven to come back and win any contest he chooses. Most of his competitors will tell you that if Yuuki wants to win, he wins. The only question is, does he want it? In 2008 Yuuki failed to compete, instead choosing to cheer his friend John Ando to the title. This year its head to head.
KENTARO KIMURRA (3A)
When Kentaro Kimurra walked from the stage at the 2008 World Yo-yo contest he knew he hadn't won. His face told the story, he was down. 20 minutes later he was back to himself, announcing he wasn't going to sleep that night, instead he was going to start practicing for the 2009 contest! Kentaro is one of the most beloved competitors. It is safe to say when he walks on stage there will not be a person in the room hoping he can go one place better and claim the title in 2009.
TYLER SEVERANCE (5A, 1A)
Tyler is another 2007 World Champion who like Yuuki, failed to attempt to defend his title in 2008. But in 2009 the competitive desire is back. Tyler started the year by defeating all comers in the Yoyofactory sponsored '5A Battle in Seattle' defeating team mates and close competitors Miguel Correa and Sterling Quinn (watch his performance here).
MIGUEL CORREA (5A, SPIN TOP)
One of the most respected competitors, Miguel is a 3x USA National champion and former World Champion. In 2009 he is looking for 2 more World titles to add to the list. In Spintop he is on a different level (as seen here). In 5A he will be right in amongst a pack of top players who will be within points of the title. At the '5a Battle in Seattle' Miguel placed 2nd to Tyler, but in front of a more international judging panel the result may have gone a different way (watch here).
STERLING QUINN (5A, 1A)
With all this talk of 5A contenders it is hard to believe there is another, but as runner up last year and with Takeshi Matsuura not expected to defend his title it appears almost logical Sterling Quinn could be next in line for the title. One thing is for sure, 5A is going to be awesome this year!
AUGIE FASH (1A, 5A)
In 2009 Augie Fash is a man on a mission. Pass him in the hallway and you may not recognize him. This is focus. Augie is ready to make a statement and all those around him better take note. He isn't here for a show, he is here to win. No holds barred, take no prisoners. WATCH OUT!
VASHEK KROUTIL (1A)
Vashek Kroutil has been a regular feature at the World Yo-yo Contest and one of Europe's top performers. His 3 Czech national titles, numerous videos (including this) and mix of speed and flow to his tricks make him a threat in any contest he enters.

'PAUL KERBEL (1A, 5A)
JOHN CHOW (1A)
Until late 2008 John Chow was know for his flashy video tricks. But at US nationals that all changed. he placed 5th showing he was *that* fast, and didn't need multiple takes to hit *those* tricks. He is a star on the rise, backing it up with a 4th place at BAC. Now it's time for John to take it to the next level. He may be young, but he sure is ready.
PATRICK MICTHELL (2A)
Back from the wilderness that was education patrick Mitchell is back to compete at his 1st World yo-yo Contest since 2006. With a best finish of 3rd place and some solid trick development under his belt Patrick may be the USA's best chance of a 2a title. Pat will be rocking the new LOOP900 and will be wearing NIXON watches.
MATEUSZ GANC (1A)
4X Polish National Champion and Yo-Yo rockstar Gacek is coming to Orlando with a point to prove and the skills to do it. Chec out his 2009 polish masters win here. Those are some serious skills!
