so... I tried the string response on the FAST201...
and IMO, its very good. all opinions are in the responsive point of view (think 1998).
Starburst response, with lube of cuz, are nice, barely snags in my experience, but they slips as the string tension gets tighter.
Sticker response (both sides) are responsive even with wash bearing. but they snags, until u break them in. but as u break them in, they'll start to get unresponsive and slips a little cuz of the smooth surface behind the frictions.
Oring response. so far one of the best response imo.
Now the string respond.
i tied full response on both sides. widest gap. very smooth. no snagging. no slipping. comes up with a tug. a smaller gap and it'll be a looper. its very very responsive YET able to do tricks very smoothly (lacerations not recommended). the Oring is good, but if u do a forward pass, it'll feel like how u would on a 1A yoyo(yoyo kinda stays in air for split second). but if u do a forward pass on this string respond Fast201, it feels near what u would from a looping yoyo.
Like i mentioned earlier, all this are just my opinion.
now to the unresponsive... the full response was good for demoing and stuff. although no slipping, no snagging, i find it too responsive for regular, so i remove one both sides, and re-tie, one side got 8loops, this time i only put 4 loops on only one side. the other empty. now its equally smooth, no probs with lacerations. lesser response, bind needed. u can try this urself. explore with different type of strings, i think different string type provide different response... enjoy.
added at 9.45pm:
this for lesser response. works very well. ask Hans if u don't believe.
the above is what i meant by 4 loops. look at the blue half, gray stringed. cotton seems more responsive. slick and poly feel smoother. mess around. never loved a FAST201 so much.
