when I was talking to Lin-Kai about the flaws of the first batch PSG, he mentioned things will improve on the next plastic yoyo, and I was already looking forward to it, when he release pictures of the Asteroid, I was kinda excited, I like the color, and I wonder how a plastic Comet would play.
I replied to one of his photo on facebook saying I love the lime green color, and I was pretty happy he actually send the lime green one as a sample! so here's more photos along more talking...

before I move on to express my opinion on the Asteroid, I believe some of you want some comparison photos, so here goes.
here's the Asteroid half and PSG half.
and here's the Asteroid half and Comet half to compare shapes.
here's more of the whole yoyo, and their parts.
the Comet looks smaller than the Asteroid in this photo above, but its not the case, the Asteroid is in fact wider, but not any larger in diameter, it looks bigger probably because of the angle I took the photo.
First thing first, the Asteroid is actually a plastic version of the Comet, which used to be the signature yoyo for Iskandar Shah when he was still on Adegle. the Asteroid uses the same thickness spacers as the PSG, which is the new thinner ones. The caps are smaller than PSG's, the caps are removable, but I couldn't get it to come off, so I can't take photos of the hub area. I remember seeing a picture somewhere of the Asteroid haing weight rings in the hub area, I'm not sure if its a setup or it came stock since I couldn't take the caps out, I haven't check with Lin-Kai about this. The Asteroid, compared to the PSG, also very limited wall area, much like YYR's.
On to how it plays, the first time I throw it, honestly speaking, it feels exactly like a PSG, in my mind I was thinking, "hey, these yoyo plays exactly the same even though the shapes are so different...". that's what I initially feel, but after more plays, it begin to feel different, the Asteroid have a more throw out feel, probably because of the thin wall.
I'm not exactly used to that, but quite a few of the local players like it though.
to some players, you may need a little time getting used to throwing the yoyo, because the shape's pretty edgy. the yoyo's pretty stable for a plastic yoyo, it also spins pretty long, but I myself, couldn't get the spin long enough for some combos though.however, if you have to compare it to the PSG, for my case, I feel the PSG has a more stable spin, BUT I remember someone told me he prefer the Asteroid, if I'm not mistaken it's Iskandar. Grinding wise, it doesn't really grind. the surface's not exactly for grinding, the shape too. but this yoyo does have smoothness, its fast, on the string, smooth, it runs on a flat bearing by the way, and pad size the same as the PSG, it handles everything I threw, lacerations, slacks, I think the suicides are pretty nice.
overall, if you ask me, I would honestly say I prefer the PSG to the Asteroid in terms of playability but that's just me, I have players telling me they want to play with the Asteroid, many times, I'll assume they like it alot.
now I won't be doing a durability test on this yoyo, which some people asked about, so don't expect any durability test for this. Local players, I'll still be bringing this to meetings be sure to try this out.
